Installed @Metalcloak skids. Went together like Lincoln Logs. Super easy and done in the garage with a floor jack and wood blocks. I didn’t even drop one F . It took a few hours to do by myself, but I needed the break from reality.
The only issue I encountered was on the last bolt at the bottom rear of the gas tank skid. The bolt for the bracket was 3/8”x1” which was too long as it hit the gas tank and the lock nut wouldn’t fit.
I ended up using a 3/8”x3/4” and a regular nut with red locktite. Other than that, it fit like a glove.
I have these on my Rubicon. When you order you state whether rock rails and there is a cutout. Removable for offroad. What splash guards did you order? All I have looked at show interference with the rock rails. From my JK, I know I have to have them.
I have both front and rear. Haven’t gotten them out yet, been on call the last three weeks. Next weekend will be their and the Metalcloak’s first test, but I think they’ll do just fine. The Rancho Skid looks to be holding up well. Any hard hits to it? Do you have the front as well? A lot like the MC but the Rancho Red seems just as thick and strong.
