My Cj7 had automatic oil change system.
Sounds like some (most?) of any 12V 5.9L Cummins ever produced……

It‘s not leaking oil, it’s just marking its territory.

My dad never believed in changing oil or oil filters. When the oil was low he would add a quart. This was in the 1960’s when engines were not built as well as they are today. He ran the shit out of his cars and put a lot of miles on them. He never had any oil related issues and some of his vehicles had over 100k on them which was rare in the 60’s
Buy any oil that meets the specs and change it when u should. The rest is just BS.
Not a person on this or any other forum has the research to prove any oil is better than another as far as engine longevity is concerned
Your dad must have gone to school with my dad. Buy a car, two years later trade it in. Oil changes? Pfftt.

Decided this is going to be my oil of choice with mopar filter at 5k changes. Fuel dilution can be an issue on these engines best to use great oil. It is expensive, but seeing as I do my own oil changes should equal out. The 2.0L turbo is a great little engine and deserves the best. Let me know what you guys think. Here are the specs:

I’ve used Mobil 1, Quaker State, Motul, LiquiMoly, Pennzoil, Royal Purple, Redline, Joe Gibbs, Amsoil, Valvoline, Castrol, Shell, Ford Motorcraft, and a few others in several different vehicles that I’ve owned. You know what I found? Almost zero difference. There’s only 2 brands on that list I’d never use again: Redline and Royal Purple. I personally think they’re trash oils that get marketed like they’re superior.

I use LiquiMoly in my M3 that revs to 8000k rpm on a regular basis and Pennzoil Platinum/Ultra Platinum in the last 3 Jeeps and 3 Dodge Chargers I’ve owned. Not a single bad Blackstone report yet.

Run what your preference is. Keep it to the recommended viscosity or close to it and make sure it meets the manufacturer specs. You’ll be just fine.
