What benefits do spacers provide?

Well, I've been looking at custom wheels and I really like the XD827 Rockstars. I love that I can customize them. I might just got this route since the 18s come with 5" of backspace. It says the offset is 0. I should be good to go with these, correct?

Ugh, seems like a lot of extra work. Might be worth it to just find an aftermarket wheel with the proper spacing. If I've got a JLUR with a 2" lift and 37" T/A KOs, I need a wheel with 4.5" of backspace, right?

You don't even need spacers unless you want them.

Pushing the wheels out also helps stability a little bit especially offroad, as you now widened your track effectively.

Do wheel spacers affect steering? Since they make the track wider, one would assume it would make the steering a little bit tighter - a good thing.

Spacers of low quality have been know to crack and catastrophicly fail, they add a little more leverage to the wheel bearings (although I would argue that wheels with 4.5" backspace do too) and it's a whole extra set of lug nuts to worry about (checking torque for instance).

Which brand(s) (that are available for the JL) would you consider to be the higher quality?
