Hey gang, curious to see what everyone out there is paying per month for their JL/JLU's for those who financed/leased.

(This thread may or may not research for wife-convincing reasons along with genuine curiosity)

I think you might want to adjust the scale of the survey. Even with 20% down, a JLU Rubicon will run well over $1,000 per month over 36 months.

For wife-convincing ammunition - keep in mind that anyone paying less than $400 per month is someone that traded in a fully-paid off vehicle and/or has a 72 month term with a balloon payment at the end.

BTW - For anyone reading this to see if they can afford a Jeep - the monthly payment is only relevant to the degree it impacts your monthly cash flow (e.g. can you pay all of your other bills with plenty of room left over?). The actual cost of the vehicle is purely the gross sales price + the financing / lease terms (interest rate / residual). Never negotiate the monthly payment with a dealer - since they can game it in any of a dozen different ways.

Payment doesn’t matter without knowing the down payment. I’m paying 370 a month on paper over 5 years for my Sport S. Downpayment was $21,500(my JKU.) NYC sales tax(8.75%) is a killer too. My payments have actually been $800 a month and I’ll be done early. I went with longer finance for some flexibility if things got tight for whatever reason.

Good point. $600/mth for 36 months is a very different situation than $600/mth for 72 months.

And yikes at that NYC tax rate. Oof

I am leasing a 2019 JLU Sport S Altitude package with cold weather, tech & safety - $470 per month with 15k miles $0 down but paid taxes up front.

Financial buying is better in the long run and I used to do it but I now prefer to lease.
