Wouldnt a gusset truss and RCV's front and cro moly rear be good to 40's?

I trussed and gusseted the front when I got my 37's.

I've heard a few that share that opinion but no real evidence to support it. I'm totally confident that I'm good for my 37s now. Just wondering what I could go up to when these tires are used up.

Hey crawdad, I just picked up a new rubicon and would love to stop and look at your rig sometime. I work over in oak ridge and in Knoxville all the time. Shout back at me.

Someone posted they broke their front axle with the stock 285 BFG all-terrain , so I don’t think tire size is the only determining factor on breaking parts. I think it’s the driver mostly.

I just got my Jeep back from the shop today. I got some rubicon axles swapped into my sport, and upgraded them with trusses and gussets up front, rcv shafts (2 piece), factory lockers remained, and 5.13 gears. I'll probably upgrade the rear shafts when options hit the market and keep the factory as spares. The driver's side shaft was twisted at the splines a bit so we went ahead and replaced it but they were wheeled HARD before I got them so no major surprise.
My question is what do you all think these axles are actually capable of handling. I'm running 37s and I drive and wheel like a grandpa so I'm not really concerned about my current setup holding up, but down the road will these handle much more than the 37s? (With upgraded rear shafts obviously)

Getting ready to order a New Mopar Rubicon Dana 44 rear for mine, what rear truss did you use? I've been looking at one from Rusty's.

Finally pulled the trigger and getting a Mopar Performance Rubicon Dana 44 rear. Once it gets in, their putting the 4.88 gears in and Rusty Truss on, I was going to add the chrome molly axles but their not released yet. I'll be ready for Jeep Invasion in August now. Look out Windrock and Hurricane Creek to start. :)

@Crawdad1028 , that is a really, really nice looking setup you have there! I know this is totally off topic, but...how did you get the Rancho diff skids to fit over the Motobilt covers? I had read and seen pics that showed they wouldn't fit.

Thanks! It was a very snug fit but no actual issue.

Really...that is great to hear. The front drain plug stays on my mind way too often.

Also, when you get a chance, post some more pics of your Jeep...the axles look great and I'm guessing the rest follows suit!
