I am not a fan of diff skids that uses the diff cover bolts to fix it to the diff.
I was wondering about this very thing: wouldn't it transfer the stress to the bolts?
The bolts that secure the skid to the cover are not the same bolts that secure the cover to the differential.

Motobilt Diff covers w/ Rancho Diff Diapers. But there is no replacement for better wheel placement.

I know that I have some trouble avoiding rocks... but after 18 months, I don't think I have much life left in my front diff skid plate. Note: the Seem is coming apart on the left side of the picture.

What's the best front diff skid you have found?
You do know you are supposed to drive OVER the rocks not directly into them right???

The new one is a little beefier... Lets see how it holds up. I'll see if I remember to check back in another 18 months... LOLS

Just remember what they say about power wheeling:

“There’s no replacement for displacement tire placement”.
Lols Love it.

We did Beavers Creek Trail at Rauch Creek last time we were out, and tire placement was key. Fun Trail! Although my buddies tie rod failed in the middle, and made it a bit of a challenge to get out.

I had the MC original design and don't remember it being a thick as the Next Venture ones I have now. The one shown here appears to be thicker than the MC original.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Everything needs a skid plate. You made me LOL. Thank you.

I think I have managed to hit everything under the Jeep with a rock.
