I'm in the same boat, picked it up tuesday with 25 miles and all the aluminum had a layer of corrosion(white powder). This was at the dealer. Washed it today and sprayed all the aluminum with corrosion X, so hopefully it abate it for a while.

Hey guys, don't forget to vote in my poll linked below. I've got POR-15 and now CorrosionX in the options.

I've actually never seen a car without at least this much minimal rust underneath. I thought it was normal.
This soon?

The more I am researching it seems that yes it is possible this soon. Was pretty upset at first but jeep won’t do anything about it so gotta protect it myself.
Once it warms up I am going to por-15 it

It seem odd, I've been in rain and or snow showers since pick up date 17 January (Maryland weather has been for the birds)! and I don't see this on mine..... yet....

It has more to do with how much salt and other chemicals are used on the roads you drive on and less to do with just getting wet.

Just buy cheap cans of Rustoleum Rust Reformer. My JK is 10 years old and has been through 10 salty winters. Other than the gas tank skid plate, it looks like new under there, thanks to Rust Reformer and regular undercarriage cleaning/washing. The most important thing to do is to was it off thoroughly after off roading.

Believe it or not, on the axles and such, the surface rust actually forms a protective barrier. You won't rust through one of those axle tubes or housings in two lifetimes, no matter how they may look.
this. i remember seeing the new GT500 in a Ford booth at a car show on display, up on some racks. you could crouch underneath it to check out the bottom of the car. the axles was all rusty on a brand new car that was being taken around the country to showcase the new car lol. then people mentioned that it actually forms a protective barrier. at least on the axle anyways.
