So, being 6’6” tall, I had to lower the front seat using one of the members here, step by step directions
for making new rear brackets. It lowered it perfectly 2” and now I see thru the middle of the windshield.
yeah!

In the process of tighting the torx bolts down the front left just gave way and the welded nut insert spins around after
I got it in about 3/4 of the ways to bottoming out.
Now the bolt is stuck and it just spins the inner nut around..
note:
under the frame the nut is hidden behind some sheet metal.

Anybody had this happen to them?

what is your advice to fix And get the bolt and inner weld nut out?

You might get lucky by prying the seat up putting tension on the nut. Squirt some WD40 down the bolt first. If it lets loose you'll have a much easier time with the seat out of the way.

So, I found the it! Seat Lowering Gave me 2 inches!

go to forums , tech, Interior
search : “ Big or Tall JL seat bracket needed “

it is a long long read , but go to page 11, that is what I did.

problem areas-
torx bolts ...... be ultra carefull not to strip, as I stripped one in the inner weld nut

leave assembled rear bracket very loose while re installing seat to align holes

seat electrical connectors are a PITA To un do.

The 4 torx bolts go in so tight that lock tight was not needed.

Note: Invest in a High Quality step drill!
