ways of carrying a gas can on the hinge-reinforced tailgate?

Anybody know a good way to carry a gas can on the passenger side of a stock 33" or 35" spare so you can open the tailgate in the normal way?
Is there something that bolts to the hinge gate?
My tailgate will have a stock 33" on it for a while at least, and has the hinge-reinforcement, so I'm thinking it can take the extra weight of a gas can.
I've see people hang things off the sides of the tire. What are the best ways to do that? thanks!

Rock Slide Engineering makes a less robust (and much cheaper) option if you're just looking to strap on a gas can or two. It's not the most secure, because its just a cut strap away from theft, but I only put it on when heading deeper into the backcountry so like that it's easy on-easy off.

Here's another option in the event you don't want it there- For Wrangler JK JL & Gladiator DLX / LOX PACK MOUNT Fuel Door Hinge Mount Brask. In the event you do a spare tire delete a lot of guys I know do this.
