Hey guys anyone having this issue?

I just got home from a 10 day camping trip in the Colorado mountains. When cleaning all the gear out of the Jeep I noticed my carpet under the floor mats were soaked (Both front and rear) and I had standing water in the rear storage compartment. Also once durning the trip I noticed the passenger front was soaked one day.

Back drop is;
Yes it rained on us.
No I didnā€™t leave anything open.
No I didnā€™t do any water crossing that could possibly be the reason.
I did pull my overland trailer behind me for 2000+ miles on this trip.
Yes the Floor is extremely hot from the power train and exhaust being worked.

So..... could it seriously be getting that hot that I would have STANDING water from condensation?

Floor mats that have the drain? and not installed correctly can let water in around the drain hole hence getting wet under the carpet.

Not the problem.
I do have the Mopar mats with the drain but they are installed correctly. Also that wouldn't explain the rear or cargo location.

Perhaps it came from the inside. Do you have a refrigerator in the back? water storage or bottles that leaked? Drainplug on a cooler not closed?

HT or soft top? My daughter has a anniversary JKU and she's had that same problem and she's had 3 complete dealer re-gasket jobs and still after bad rainstorms it fills??? It's a HT and the top or panels have never been off. The dealer keeps fixing, they marked the old gasket so they are changing them? They say it's from off roading, daaaa! They've been off road maybe 3 time, fer chys sake it's a friggin' Jeep!

No help I know and I feel your pain!! Opening the fron doors in heavy rain especially with vehicle aimed dow in front causes the dreaded "drip off" that JL and JK's are famous for! Enough of that can get into the back too, back kinda unlikely???

Go Jeep!!!

Hi CJ-ING-RJ,
We certainly understand why this may be frustrating. If you plan on seeing your dealer to have this addressed, we would be happy to have this documented as well as connect you with a case specialist to assist you throughout this process. Our team is available via private message!

That was our 1st thought when we found only the passenger side soaked. We checked the water bottle that was on the floor, but it was good.
On the 800 mile trip home I know nothing was spilled. My only 2 thought are condensation or rain leak.

Please private message me with any info you would like have. I do plan on getting the Jeep into the dealer for this. I am getting ready to have them replace the radio for the 4th time, replace the rear defroster for the second time and have them check over the TPMS system. The TPMS was faulty 3 times on this trip als .
Thanks Jeep Cares for reaching out.

Not much help here, but I highly dought it is condensation. The carpet acts as an insulator which would eliminate that. I have read on a forum some time ago that water was getting in from the front of the tub and ending up on the floor from under the dash, not the back though. Good luck.

So here's a crappy update. Got the Pumk'n back yesterday. The apparent reason for water in the back was due to "dirty" seals around the tailgate glass. The reason for standing water on the drivers side floor mat was from a missing plug in the drivers side fire wall.
Now I'm a electrician not a plumber, but how in the world does water traverse to the passenger side and have a standing puddle while the drivers side is just damp? I'm kind of feeling like this is the classic pass the buck situation. Oh and the best part. Water under both rear floor mats. They think water just got in there "somehow".
If JeepCares real cares I hope they won't close this case.

Well speaking from experience, when I drilled a hole in the firewall plug to pass a dashcam cable through, when it rained, water entered through the hole and puddled on the driver's mat. After I sealed the hole in the firewall plug with RTV silicone, no more issues.

No idea how water would pool on the passenger side.
