Chemistry just is applied physics. Waiting for the mathematicians to pipe up now.It's actually chemistry, but right on.
More specifically, water and carbon dioxide are the products the combustion of hydrocarbons and oxygen. The water has to come out the exhaust pipe somehow. Usually it's water vapor, but sometimes it's liquid when the system is cold.
The source of the water is obviously chemistry - but the reason it can initially be seen as a liquid in cold weather is definitely a physics question.
