Wow. Amazing technology. Only if they could get rid of all the people at their shitty dealers and replace them with robots that just do their job.

I assume these KUKA robots aren't the ones doing the shitty frame welds, as those come from a different factory already assembled, no?

Cool video though. I bet most of the cool indoor panning are done with drones. Very cool to see.

This is a really cool video, thank you for posting. The shocking thing to me is how few people seem to be working on the line there.

The doors are flat and not warped during manufacturing. Herd they become warped after the sound insulation mat is glued inside of the door skin and the door is baked for paint. I herd it was due to the sound insulating mat shrinking from the baking process. I wonder why they just can't' glue in the sound insulating mat inside the door skiing after painting?

Frames are a different factory, unfortunately.

There was nothing KUKA about that video, thanks for sharing! A side effect of that video is that I suddenly now want to purchase a Jeep gladiator.

At the end of the day, the robots are only as good as whoever programed them and the techs that maintain the line.
Having worked myself in the past with industrial robots, I can tell that things need to be "just so" for them to do the job correctly. When everything is set up, they can do the same job over and over far faster and far better than even the most skilled human worker.
However, if the jig is off by 10mm a human will notice and fix it, where as our robot overlords just go ahead and weld anyhow.

Would these be the guys I should ask about this on 6 out of the 8 door hinges my 2018? :lipssealed:

You would think Jeep would have figured the hinge corrosion out after 3 generations. Hate to see that happening. Is FCA warranting it?

Had this problem with my '12 JKU, dealer fixed under warranty with only minor argument! Came out great and was fine for the 20k more miles I owned it. My JLU seems OK at 25K, we'll see?

Go Jeep!!!
