Sorry, I do not know! It is just a little crazy when even our winches could leave us stranded due to a discharged/dead/defective wireless control...Maybe Warn should also include an old-fashion connection & wired control for backup: 12S-P/MB (Platinum Manual Backup)
Yes, a hard wired backup is a great idea.

Found a Warn Zeon 10S new in box at a local store. Last one they had. Owner said he can’t get anymore until late in the year or early next. I called around ALOT nobody had them. Napa guy said Warn not showing any in inventory nationally thru his system. Don’t know if that’s actually true but this particular winch is in high demand. Guess it hits the sweet spot in between the EVO VR (made overseas) and the crazy expensive platinum. I know I wanted this vs the platinum because the platinum only operates by wireless remote. So if the wireless remote dies , you’re stuck.

No mention of the Badlnds winch from HF?
I bought one and it’s been great so far. Yeah, I know, it’s China made……but so are many of the others. And if not made in China, most are ASSEMBLED in the USA with “foreign sourced“ parts. Don’t get me wrong, I love my country and try to buy local and support my country as best I can. But, I can buy 3 HF winches for the cost of 1 of the brands mentioned above.
Hey I totally understand that and it makes perfect sense. I just figured since it’s a recovery device I’ll go USA made. Definitely more pricey though…

Question and I thought I would post it here instead of a new thread.

If I went with some thing like the factor 55 ultra hook would I still need the MAXIMUS-3 WINCH HOOK ANCHOR? I already purchased this and since I don’t have a vehicle yet I’m trying to determine if this part is still necessary if I go with a factor 55 ultra hook.

You will still need a winch fairlead center bracket unless whatever winch plate you get comes with it like this warn one

It should press flat against the fairlead just like the flatlink (what I have). Btw you may have to hammer the thimble a bit to flatten it enough to go into your ultrahook.

I bought the maximus 3 JL Mount. But I’m wondering more about the aesthetics if I go with a factor 55 hook instead of the stock. Will the additional Maximus piece even be necessary if I ditch the warn hook?

Thanks for the tip. Like my post above I am wondering if the additional piece in the front with the arrow pointing to it for cable management is necessary if I opt for a Factor 55 hook instead of the stock warn hook.

I was considering the same and am not doing the maximus hook thing. Just going to use the F55 ultra hook flat against the Hawse fairlead

Thanks guys I really appreciate it I’m just gonna go with a Factor 55. I already purchased that additional piece from maximus and I’m past the return window. Should I just try to sell it here and see if I get any bites?

I’d try to contact who you bought it from first. As long as you didn’t install it they may be flexible.
