that was my thought. good entry level winch you could easily change out the cable relatively cheap

I have that winch with a synthetic rope on my '01 WJ. I only needed to use it once to help an '04 Tacoma up a long, steep, loose dirt, rutted out hill that my WJ scampered up without issue.
The hill was too long for just my winch so we had our winch ropes connected. He would winch up, then I would. His Harbor Freight winch apparently overheated and stopped working every few minutes. So I winched him up the last 50' or so continuously and the Warn had no trouble.
I forgot to take pics at the time, here's an older pic of the WJ.

I did call Warn, and they said to expect the rebate check in 10-12 weeks

You have until Jan 31 to apply for the rebate.

Anyone who ordered during the rebate deal up until midnight Dec 31 2023 is eligible.

Warn did extend the rebate deal once already (Dec 15th to 31st).

Yep, 10 weeks-ish is what we've been hearing from people.
