I have the towr package with the aux switches.

1.) does it matter directionally which side I run the positive cables? (See snapshot below - its as far as I got)

2.) do I run the negative for the winch directly to the battery?

3.) for the 2 smaller terminals, let me know if this is correct: one terminal gets a negative thats run to battery. The other gets wired to one of the aux switches

4.)are the smaller terminals directional as well (meaning one on left must be run to battery)

5.) does it matter which aux switch i use? Im already using 4 for my arb OBA.

1. No
2. Yes
3. Aux to post. Post to ground*.
4. No. At least I don't think so.
5. No. But you may want to use one of the low current ones.

* There is a nice front post on the fender.

Correct.

That should have said "*there is a nice ground post on the fender". Damn autocorrect. :(

Aux switch / Max Current
1 / 40 amps
2 / 40 amp
3 / 15 amp
4 / 15 amp

I'd use Aux 3 or 4 since the solenoid doesn't pull that much current.
This preserves 1 and 2 for higher current accessories.

thanks for the help. In using aux3. All buttoned up and working as intended. I do hear the solenoid click when I hit the aux button, but im assuming thats normal.

Could you document where everything goes; I’ll be wiring up my winch with this kit in a week?
Thanks

On the solenoid, the 2 large copper-colored posts: one post to the positive lead from the winch. The other post to the provided positivie cable. The other side of that cable then goes to the positive on the battery

one smaller post goes to a ground

the other smaller post goes to the aux switch wire you want to use (use 3 or 4 since they are only 15a)

the negative (black)lead from the winch goes directly to the negative terminal on the battery.

My install looks just like yours and I am running aux 3 for the interupt. I grounded the aux from the solenoid to one of the bolts of my mount plate.

What's the purpose of this kit? Just curious as to me it seems a little redundant. If the winch isn't on it won't be drawing power from the battery.

If the winch is wired directly into the battery without some sort of cutoff/interrupt kit that positive wire is still live so if you get in a wreck there is a chance that wire could sever and short out possibly causing a fire or whatever.

@Jhawth also - not really a big deal, but my ignition needs to be on to operate the winch. So no one can mess with it.
