Warm Air coming from under the dashboard

Hi, whenever I’m on a long drive, I notice warm air blowing from under the dashboard. Is this normal? Does anybody here notice that too?

Unfortunately it is normal. I’m not sure why, but the little door above the cabin filter opens intermittently allowing warm air into the cabin.

there is a lengthy thread on this forum addressing this issue with a work around to force it closed.
