Went out and back from Downieville through poker flat to potosi. Checked out the old mining community before heading back down. Beautiful day, clear and crisp 41 degrees.Did you guys get to "TWIN CULVERTS" and/or "POKER FLAT" on Canyon creek ???
I haven't been up there in years, used to deer hunt out of TWIN CULVERTS--
That's a BEAUTIFUL AREA also a lot of old GOLD SITES/w PLACER MINING PILES--besides getting to 4wheel, you get to see some great old time sites-

Should of said 36 grade, although it sounds more exiciting... it equates to about 19-20 degrees on the pitch, but it was fun. Will post more pics soon showing some of that CA sunshine.Wow, looks like beautiful county out there. Here.... well, we've already got snow, so there's that. Most of it's melted already but more to come tonight and/or tomorrow. I think my scenic photos are probably done till spring. I'll have to live vicariously through you all, so keep them coming.
JCatherine, it sounds like you had a lot of fun. 38% grade is a pretty good climb. I'm not sure what these things are capable off (stock), but that seems like would still be real exhilarating. If you've got more photos of that Sahara in action (or just looking pretty in the wilderness), I'd love to see more.
