I was quoted $500 at my dealership for the lift install. Is that fair?
I've told mine $300 or I'd do it myself...seems like they're probably gonna do it. We'll see... I figure if it takes them more than 3 hrs to do this, with the lift and everything, I probably don't want them doing it anyhow.

If you're curious about what's involved with the install, Here is a good video that goes through the steps...

The install looks pretty easy.

Thanks for posting the video, doesn’t get much easier than that. It’s better to see it done than the provided instructions, that looks like a kids coloring book

Definitely- the video helps with the pdf instructions, but you gotta love it whenever they show people installing stuff on a brand new vehicle when nothing is rusted yet :cwl:

Stupid question- but wouldn’t an alignment be required after installation?

no, only adjustment is toe which should remain unchanged. you may have to line your steering wheel back up though.

Anyone else notice that he installed the front right spring on the left side?

Quadratec estimates 3-4hrs for the lift install. Figure another hour or so for tire mounting and balancing.

https://www.quadratec.com/p/mopar/2...MI447T6dyD2QIVWDqBCh0KYwOCEAQYASABEgIrc_D_BwE

Easy Installation: The 2 inch lift kit is designed to install easily, with no modifications to the vehicle. No driveshaft or brake line modifications are required! The lift kit will allow for up to 35" tires which will improve the vehicle stance and off-road capabilities!

On the parts screen at the Dealership it says 2.2 hours for a Chrysler tech. The parts manager however said that was not enough time. He stated that they got 4 hours for the JK and most likely would need 4 hours for the JL. He did say as the tech's get proficient the install time requirement might decrease.

Roger that. Nearly 24 hrs. in total to install a 3.5" Rubicon Express lift on my son's '95 XJ. Quadratec stated 4 - 6 hrs. HA! Granted, I completed the job Aug. 2017; 22 year after initial build. ALL bolts to the unibody were difficult to remove too say the least. There might have been some swearing.

So I am watching this and I notice that he put the wrong spring on the front drivers side, the blue tag springs go on the passenger side and the red tag springs go on the drivers side. He did get the correct springs in the correct positions on the back though.

Edit: I just saw that tmakaro already caught it. :) Should have finished reading the posts.
