I’ve noticed for a while the bass was vibrating or buzzing. I reached back and pulled on the speaker bar and it went away 100%. Anyone else? I wonder if I can wedge something to make it stop.

Nice. I get the same thing, but hadn't thought to pull on it. I had assumed I'd have to look into poly fill, and what not, but this might just solve the problem.:like:

When the music is cranked way up, I noticed a vibration in the gas and brake pedals. Anyone else notice this too? Feels similar to the way brakes feel when they need new pads and or need new brake pads.

I haven't taken delivery of my 2018 JLU yet, but in the JK's the soundbar was a known issue for most people. Especially if you had an upgraded stereo with some power behind it, or you ran up the bass. The fix was more trouble than it's worth (to me anyway), but guys would remove the bar, reinforce it with whatever, Dynamat the crap out of it, or build a custom bar, etc, etc, etc. Tupperware doesn't make for a good speaker enclosure. There isn't enough mass, and the materials are susceptible to resonating at frequencies within the normal audio band.

Since I have an aftermarket head unit, I set the internal deck Xover to cut the bass out of the rear speakers. I have them roll off pretty steep at 80-100Hz.

This might not help the JL guys with factory stereos, but I would first try turning the bass down to 0 (flat), and set your fader so that most of the sound comes from the front speakers. The rears are just for a little ambient fill.

Sorry, not here. Wonder if it's something you could access by removing the plastic or a speaker?

EDIT: have the upgraded sound system, but don't blast it much. Wonder if others will encounter down the road though...

hey,

so I had the exact same problem and was able to fix it by putting a little rubber between the plastic sound bar and the metal roll bar on top. the seam has some really basic double sided tap that seems to seperate with heat and vibration... i didnt have anything rubber so i took a glove from a first aid kit and shoved it in the gap:cwl:... see picture below.

Have to try that thanks! It is very annoying. Does your radio also cut in and out sometimes? I think it's like the satellite antenna not picking up the satellite but it happens often and i'm in a clear area.

I have fixed two sound bar rattles from the speakers. One was a basic stereo and the other was a premium system. Remove the 3 torx screws on the front of the sound bar and pull down to remove trim. I used some dense foam at the rear inside of the sound bar and it stopped both rattles.

I added a small piece of foam pad I had between the sound bar and steel frame and it seems like it worked like 99%

Yes, my radio cuts out often and I'm in a clear area as well.

I had the same issue I lowered the bass to 0 and checked the balance set it from center to one to two clicks to the front speakers if it makes any sense. That work for me some how the vibration went away

This drove me absolutely nuts, but at just under 3K KM in, i'm finally getting used it. Sadly I don't think there's a fix for that one.

Thanks Dane. I did this exact same thing (even using rubber gloves) and so far no more rattle! I put the rubber in a few areas along the soundbar.
