Yeah, mine steers/handles great so I'm hesitant for my JL to even cross the dealers property line at this point.
For sure I agree! My JL Rubi steers and feels way better than my 2017 Sahara. That thing was all over the road. Lol!

Just got my jeep back from another ESS fix(second issue). Had the recall done(installed correctly). and the 15,000 mile oil change, tire rotation. Not sure they rotated the tires, I shouldā€™ve marked the tires to doublecheck, my bad. I asked about 6 quarts of oil as I noticed it was listed as 6 quarts of oil on the service wright up. The service advisor had the technician come over and explain to me that the jeep takes 5 quarts of oil but that the filter makes it need another quarter to a third of a quart of oil. He gave me the remainder of that quart of oil. Thatā€™s why they wrote up 6 quarts of oil, they typically donā€™t give it to the customer apparently. The service writer was going to have the car washed, they didnā€™t do it.
Later that day I noticed the front channel of my radio was not working, back to the dealership.

Can someone post pics of exactly where I should be looking to make sure mine is done correctly? I am going to have mine done this Thursday afternoon.
How did this work out for you? Underneath, on passenger-side. You can't miss the stabilizer with the white label showing the part # and the arrow with the direction it should be facing (forward). Hopefully you had them show you once they were done.

Brought mine in for the recall... appointment, confirmation as to why it was there and they kept it for 2 days. I did add the next oil change tire rotation to the mix and a UConnect issue but hereā€™s the kicker.. end of day 2 received the call from service saying they were able to get the oil/ rotation done and ordered a new radio but that they donā€™t have the recall part and they are restricted from ordering it until Aug 29th! WTF?!? Why would you even schedule and confirm the appointment for me if you donā€™t have / canā€™t get the parts?

I was in no rush for the other items on the list so not wasting my time with additional trips would have been fine. I think Iā€™m more annoyed with the lack of courtesy and forethought that the process provides than the actual issues. Oh well.

I had my damper replaced today. I had no problems before, but I can tell this is definitely tighter and responds very quickly.

It was installed correctly as far as I can see. I honestly can't tell any difference in how it drives but I have never experienced the "death wobble" either, which I am assuming was the recall reason.

The wobbles was the reason. Thankfully, I've never had the problem either, but I went the aftermarket route before the recall. For those who haven't had the problem, getting the replacement work done is a toss-up. I'm glad you at least had the work done correctly.

I didn't ever see the "wobble" but my steering was not as tight as I thought it should be. However, what do I know so I didn't react initially. When I got the official notice from FCA, I decided to give it a go.

My dealer did the update, did it right the first time and surprisingly enough...I have steering that is noticeably improved

Wobble has started on my 2019 JLUS at about 8,000 miles. Damper is on order at the dealership. Waiting for it to come in. Up to 8,500 miles and it's getting worse every day. seems to start at around 60 mph.

Dealership did mine yesterday. Now I get 64 mpg city and a unicorn copilot tells me how handsome I am all the time now!!

of course I joke... Iā€™m not that handsome.

but... they installed it correctly and I do notice a better feel in the steering. Itā€™s not life changing but certainly makes more sense for what one expect it to feel like and it has felt more stable over rough roads.
Make sure to confirm part availability with the dealer so you know if you are bringing it in for the work to be done or a physical touch point for them to order the part.

Mine is done. Zero change. Would never notice.
Yep I think most of us will not even notice a difference. More placebo and wanting it to do miracles so we make ourselves believe. Maybe itā€™ll help some but Iā€™m not drinking the kool-aid either. Iā€™m holding out on mine for a month or so. That way the dealerships get time to get it down and stop installing the dampner backwards.
