I know this has been discussed ad nauseam and I've even texted back-and-forth with Tazer technical support, but I'm still confused.

It's my understanding that on my son's jeep JL I can plug in the tazer and turn off the TPMS because he is just upgrade his tire size and make any other non-live changes. I can then somehow save that settings which I'm not sure how to do. Do I just unplug the taser mini unit and ply the wiring to the stock location or do I have to do that reboot technique that shown on page 6 in the Manual, and by doing that, the modifications made to his JL (and keep the TPMS sensors off) and If have to un-mary the Taser at some point before disconnecting the Taser unit from his car??

Again my goal is to keep the settings on his and then attach it to my JT which I also did tire changes too and be able to access the "live"options.. It's my understanding though and in order for me to get it to work on my JT, I have to buy a $50 one time activation reset code?

Also assuming I can get the settings on his jeep to stay after I remove the mini module (however it's done as questioned above) if he were to ever take it to the dealership I would want to unmarry the settings which would revert everything back to stock. I assume I would then need to buy another $50 activate key to reset the saver so I could use it on his car to once again turn off the TPMS... Or is it not needed to unmarry because all I used the taser for on his car was to turn off TPMS? (no "live" functions). And then spend another $50 activate/reset key so I could then use it again on my car "as-new"… So every time that he takes it to the dealer it's $50 in and $50 out total, would that be correct?

Thank you very very much and I hope everybody enjoys the rest of your weekend, Ed

Happy Sunday everyone,

I want everyone that was super excited about this post lol to know that I was invited by Bill a.k.a. Rhinebeck01 to have a telephone conversation regarding these questions.

It was an unbelievably generous gesture and Bill took much time out of his day to answer my questions and help me to understand some of the nuances and logic behind many of the components of the "tazer experience". One takeaway in particular... "save your skin and marriage and just buy the SGW extension cable" lol

Bill, I just wanted to publicly thank you and should anyone else have the opportunity for a first hand consultation, I would highly recommend you take him up on his offer!

Ultimately what we decided to do was to reinstall the TPMS in my son's JL and use the tazer in my JT only. My wife was really happy to hear that because, as a young driver, having the TPMS is a benefit for my son versus a burden to many of us who grew up actually checking our tire pressures with a mechanical gauge... typically losing at least one valve stem cap in the process... Haha.
