I’ve never used any dealer changes (Jeep or Chevrolet). I fortunate I have a great shop at home. I can complete the change and rotation quicker than I can drive the round trip to the dealerships. Maybe they do a good job around here, just haven’t ever tried.

I completed my first oil change at 6,000 miles myself this weekend with the OEM filter and 9 quarts of pennzoil ultra euro 5w-40 (3.0 diesel).

I accidentally fumbled the removal of the original filter getting used oil on the frame and some other places. And, I accidentally fumbled one of the nine quarts being added, which spilt a quarter of a quart down the front side of the motor. I can appreciate a tech doing the same, it's an honest mistake. But, what pains me is when the dealer doesn't wipe it off, that's unacceptable.
