Following. I’ve had my JL for two weeks today and it won’t connect to CarPlay. What can I do to get this issue resolved? I’ve tried the fuse and it worked for a little while then disconnected again while it was in use. I’ve also turned off my Jeep for a couple hours come back and it’s worked again. Now it’s back to not connecting again.

Hi Lisa,

Are you planning on working with your dealer to get this checked out? Send me a direct message with your VIN if we can be of any assistance with this process.

Not a JL but we recently picked up a Renegade to add to our JKU. Came out tonight and after 2 weeks the front port no longer works for CarPlay or charging. We have the 8.4” Uconnect in ours. The back seat port does work for both charging and CarPlay.

Hi 17FreedomChief and Nicolea524,

Hello. I picked up my brand new JLU today. Everything worked great until I plugged my iPhone into the console USB port 2. It connected and worked for about 10 seconds then dead, no carplay, only charging. The dash port works fine. Help! I don't want to return it for this.

Hi. Our new JLU Sahara has the same issue. All USB ports are not working at all. No charging nor CarPlay whatsoever. And also only the front panel USB-1 has the surrounding LED lights up. I tried fuse thing and got LEDs back up and charging works but then after driving for a while, all dead again! Send the jeep back to dealer and they said need to replace the front USB port part (they are not sure if that's the cause at this time but will replace it for me anyway to see if it will fix the issue). Now I'm waiting for the part, maybe 4-5 days here in Canada. This is so annoying. Will keep this updated.

Same, mine is intermittent. Works most of the time but drops out every now and then. Come back a few hours later and it works fine.

When port 2 goes out, I swap to port 1 and it works.

Frustrating for sure. I waited 5 months for this vehicle and its a $55k vehicle. The USB should work, lol.

That said - haven’t talked to dealer yet, hoping to wait it out here before going in.

I’m up in Canada on a long road trip and all the USB ports went out. Took it to a dealer in Grand Prairie and they tried the fuses and then the service guy just disappeared after a half hour and the other guys there could have cared less. Super frustrating, since it’s the fourth time I’ve had to take the Jeep into the dealer.

Now I’m 2500 miles away from home and planning being off the grid for awhile and not have the ability to use any usb. Luckily I can still use the normal outlet plugin. But makes me super nervous something else might go wrong, especially since I can’t charge my Garmin Inreach.

Yeah, this happened to me again yesterday while driving. USB port 2 (the one in the center storage console thing).

At first, it seemed like my USB cable might be bad - like it was shorting out for a couple of seconds. Then, the whole thing cut out and wouldn’t come back on again for that trip.

Based on my experience so far, it’ll be back to normal with no issues when I fire it up this morning.

Bad connection somewhere between the USB port and head unit - and perhaps a safety switch is firing when the wires begin to go lose, keeping it disabled for a few hours?

Mine does this from time to time. But I noticed the other day when it happened, I went to the phone, and unlocked it. (Screen lock) the both USB ports started working normally again. So when it happens again, I’ll try that and confirm. It could be I was just lucky.

hi, this is much longer than what I have been told by the dealer, but they've finally got the part and replaced my media hub and internal cable for me today. All the USB ports are charging and CarPlay works (except for the USB-4 port which is a charge only). I tried them with different phones and cables and they are all working well so far.
