My 2019 JLU has had issues since new with the arm rest USB PORT. It will not stay connected using any cables, Apple or after market. If I use the dash USB port there are no issues. Yesterday at the dealer again they said it was another update, this is number 5 I believe I’ve had and when I read the techs notes when I got home I was mad for two reasons. #1 It failed on the way home and won’t work again and #2 the tech wrote the cable was loose in the USB port which is 100% not true. For 2 1/2 years I’ve been working on this, it has nothing to do with a loose connection. Anyone else having this same issue?

have you traced the cables inside the center console? I would imagine there has got to be a cable that is running to some sort of USB hub. At this point I'd be eyeing that as the culprit

Thank you, at this point two dealers have been dealing with the problem over the 2 1/2 years. Neither one of them have tried that but I will suggest that or I will just do it myself finally. If you want something done right……..enough said.

Best I can tell, the rear USB uses a patch cable coming off the back of the front USB port housing.
These are instructions for installing AUX switches, link goes to 16:35, the cables are also shown at 19:55 when he reconnects.

This wiring diagram found here on the forum also seems to indicate the same.

Troubleshooting that front USB thing is probably a no-go but you may be lucky and find one of those connectors is loose. If you attempt please keep us posted.

Wow, that’s awesome! Thank you! I’m going to try this and see if I can find the problem.

I had the same problem. It was solved by replacing the rear media hub, which is the usb assembly that is in the center console facing the rear seats. The dealer tried software first, then replacing only the usb port, then finally the rear media hub. The wires in the front run to the rear hub, then the center console port wires from the rear hub.

One more question please, did they also replace the wiring to the hub or just the hub itself?

I would like to know what exactly was replaced to fix this issue as well.

Hello! I'm sorry you ran into this problem. You can solve everything. First of all, I would recommend that you consult a specialist. That way, everything will be much simpler and less risky. I once tried to solve such a problem on my own, and it seemed to me that everything was going well until I turned on the computer and found that I had lost all the data. It seems that during the disassembly, I touched on some extra detail. Fortunately, a friend recommended the platform http://salvagedata.com/ to me. Thanks to it, I was able to restore all my data. I hope that my example motivated you to turn to a specialist.
