USB in arm rest doesnt work

Brand new JLUR and the “USB 2” inside the arm rest console doesnt charge or seem to recognize on the uconnect.

anyone else experience this? All other USBs work including in the back seat on the back side of the arm rest console - i plug in usb 3 and it charges and recognizes.

Mine works off and on all the time! I stopped using it because it would kick me out of carplay while commuting to work. I now use the one in the dash ....There have been others who have had this issue, one guy had his replaced under warranty when he noticed the light in the armrest blinking and related it to the power source being interrupted. Which is exactly what it was!

Mine was too but the usb would kick me off and I would have to remove plug and replug in order to get back to carplay and then it would do it again!! ( not great when driving an hour to work)As much as I like having no wires in front I had to switch to front USB because the armrest one is just not a solid connection. Which is true for a lot of wranglers...not all, but there were enough posts to support an issue!

Yeah i am clearly under warranty so i guess i could get it swapped but any clue how easy it is? Would hate for them to deconstruct the whole console. Or do they just pop out the usb port plastic? Any clue?

You could check for any debris in the port ( I know you said it's NEW ) something may be inside the port? Try blowing it out if possible with some compressed air? Might help

Well now its confirmed it falls into jlu weirdness. Turned jeep off stepped away for 30 mins came back and plugged first into usb 2 and now it charges and recognizes on uconnect. Wtf!

My gosh this is spooky! I've never had an issue with either my Rubicon JL or Sahara JL but my RAM 2500 does exactly as you described!!!

New option: "Haunted USB Port" upgrade kit. Keeps you guessing?

Yeah i mean its not that hard. You can buy multi port USBs for $5 - this should be nothing more! Multiple USBs that go to 1 source - magic - they have been doing this since 1995!

Brand new 2019 Sahara and it kicks me out of CarPlay randomly from the center console. It's frustrating to deal with while you're driving because it won't recognize it again. Unplugging from the port and plugging it back in doesn't work.
