USB-C and CarPlay

Anyone know if a USB-C to lightning cable would trigger CarPlay on the JL? I’m interested in the potential faster charging rates, but don’t want to lose CarPlay.

I don't know how this cable is different from the normal Apple cable. But I like fast, so I just bought one because of you guys! Does it just plug into the normal USB port in the Jeep? I want one that I can plug into the center console and still close the Tuffy safe. The normal Apple cable gets chewed up after a couple months of opening and closing the safe, so maybe the durability of this new cable is what I am looking for.

It can only plug in on the dash, that’s the only usb-c port in the JL. It’s the tiny oval above the regular USB port on the dash. Supposedly, and someone else may weigh in here, usb-c is faster charging, but I don’t know the specs on the JL USB-C output. Either way, it frees up another USB port on the dash for my wife or kids to charge their stuff.

Ah, thanks for the comments guys! I'm sure I could have just asked my sons to figure it out for me, but I like to pretend I am still up on technology. It's getting more difficult though...

Great, I didn’t know. I’ll have to check mine. I have JLUR, also. My son would love being able to charge his Nintendo Switch back there.
