You're right on the battery cells. I went back and read the 10/28 version and it says cells as well. I must have misread originally.

Given this language, it looks like $8500 for the 4xe
They put paid family leave back into the bill which I believe was a sticking point for two of the senators blocking it in the first place. Only pointing that out for what it may mean for the current version’s future.

I did not put in the bracketed warning. That was from a moderator.

People can (?) talk about the bill and its effect on the vehicle without getting into party politics. So many other places for that.
I guess we will agree to disagree. Any and all bills will have someone taking a side and usually those are persuaded by political views. In particular to this bill that you would like to discuss when there is discrimination built in like union vs non union work then again politics will be involved. This thread is not going to be political free.

I didn't make the "no politics" rule and warning.

You can talk about the bill, its changes, what sections apply to the 4xe, how the 4xe is made, all without getting into partisan comments about "our senile-in-chief," see comment a few above this one.

There are so many other outlets for people who want to not be civil. I don't make the rules here. I just try to respect them as a respectful participant in the forum.

Basically what the concern over "politics" is is the battle between the two parties. That's what they mean when they say "no politics"...we don't want it devolving into a red vs blue battle like it does 99% of the time. It's ridiculous that this is such a problem since this bickering within the fake "two party system" is what is keeping us from accomplishing the stuff we should easily be able to accomplish. But fear and conflict are profitable, peace and progress are not.

But the TL;DR version is this - keep red and blue out of it and we should be ok.

I agree with Goin2drt on this. I usually don't agree with his politics, but at least his posts are thoughtful and articulate. FWIW, that goes a long way to helping me listen to diverse points of view. Am I the only one who wants to go back to a time when we kept the drivel below the surface, and were outwardly cordial/respectful to each other?

Joe, as long as you are personally willing to bypass Social Security and Medicare, I will see you as firmly anti-socialist. When you step up to the microphone, you need to have the courage of your convictions...and I will fully respect that. Otherwise, it's just lip service.

If you respond, so that we can see your dedication, please confirm your intention to waive off Social Security when you turn 65.

Let's get back to Jeeps! BTW, welcome to the forum. There is a ton of great information to be had here. [and...the members occasionally disagree, but that's cool]
Social Security and Medicare is something we and our employers paid into. So anyone that gets SS and Medicare is getting THEIR money back and at a crappy return no less. So respect that!

Actually, retirees are not getting their money back - they are getting funds put in by the current workers. If we don't fix SS, the current funders will get very little. SS is a great safety net program for all, but it needs to be managed with some common sense. We've been kicking the can down the road forever. Whichever party is in office is frozen into inaction for fear of flak from the opposing party. Both parties are guilty, and the American public will suffer. Not me, you. I'm luckily on the front end of the Ponzi scheme. And...it doesn't have to be a Ponzi scheme. It just needs some fiscal attention - now.

My God, if there ever is a subject that should be apolitical, it's this one.
Agreed and I don't appreciate how ANYONE talks about SS and MC as being a "benefit" and it could be taken away. It is EARNED. Those that worked a long time have put A LOT into the system and they HAVE THE RIGHT to that money back in their golden years. Far too often people speak of this like a free hand out. That is WRONG!!!!

Call me when these “scientists” can accurately tell me if it’s going to rain tomorrow.
Any what is the alternative? Every year that goes by weather predictions have become more accurate.

How statistically bad is the weather report where you live. Provide evidence.

Should we rely on televangelists and self proclaimed religious figures instead?

Should we say, "Derpity-Do, I have no idea?" What trust people who have dedicated their lives to subject matters.

Obvious joke apparently wasn't obvious.
Maybe it’s a commentary on the sad state of scientific literacy in this country because it wasn’t at all obvious that was a joke…. Glad it was, though!

Appears poised to be law.

8K for the 4xe at the point of sale. Meaning you get it right when you make the purchase.

80K max price.

Can’t find the final text but I’ll post when I do.

Max for a full Union made EV as high as $12,500. Mache Bolt F150Lightning. Tesla gets $7500 if under caps.
