I don't see anything there that PDR shouldn't be able to easily fix 100%. I would absolutely prefer that option over a replacement or repainted hood as everything would stay original.

If you're set on getting a new hood, I would at least ask for a Rubicon hood as an upgrade to offset the downsides of having bodywork on a new vehicle.
If he gets a new good there wouldn't be any body work. If they fix the current good there would be body work. Your statement doesn't make any sense.

Replacement panels won’t have factory vin tags, and for colors like Mojito, neighboring panels would need to be blended in order for the paint to match the new hood.

It’s a pointless argument as it’s extremely unlikely that the dealer will replace the hood.

Do you think that damage can be repaired without repainting the hood?

Id ask for a new hood and make it a rubi hood.

Painting is not big deal when done by a competent shop. The fenders are plastic and probably dont match perfectly anyways (if painted). Being an aluminum hood i would think doing body work and paint would cost more than a new hood. These hoods arent that expensive, especially at dealer cost.

its not that big of a deal imo. As long as they own up to it and try to make it right for you. Many dealers would deny that it happened there.

It looks like a small dent with no paint damage in that picture, so sure, it looks like something that PDR should be able to easily fix. I don’t think anyone would consider something that minor as bodywork.

Can always get them to put on a hood decal of your liking, plus a few free oil changes.

If it didn't damage the paint, I would not want to repaint.

And no dealer will replace it with a Rubi one that’s just a silly request

Ah. I bought mine at Erin Chrysler. If you end up just pocketing cash and walking away, I'd recommend them. They were nothing but good to me. Good luck!

(I am in no way affiliated with Erin Chrysler, they just deserve the recommendation.)

ask for a vented rubicon hood as a replacement and see if they will do it. and yes they will do it since a Mopar replacement hood is $900 and at my jeep dealer til 12/31 all Mopar items over $250 are 25% off. then take the hood to a good body shop and have it painted that will only run a few hundred yourself.

I understand the heartache of having a brand new vehicle with damage but this is an EASY fix for a paintless dent removal technician and will be unnoticeable once done. Ask the dealer if they have a PDR on hand that can fix it.

Doc... Duh.
I took delivery of my new 2020 Wrangler unlimited 4 door today, and only realize there is a damage on way home.
Some one in the dealer must dropped garage door to the hood, deform the hood and leave some scuff mark on paint.
the damage is subtle and probably buffed before sold to me, you can see kink at the curve line on hood, but not in the flat area, the flat area saw some scuff mark match exactly the bottom of garage door.

Sales recognized the problem, she wrote: "
Whatever damage you see on the Jeep, we will fix for you, don’t worry. We won’t be able to fix anything on the spot tomorrow but will have to have you come back during the week on a weekday for my service manager to inspect it.
"
I think she knew it there before it sold to me, I saw the car twice but both occasion is in evening, hard to discover the problem. At this moment, I know why the dealer straightforward accept my offer of 10k discount from MSRP, good deal, but to be honest I am total regret to get into JEEP now.

Should I ask for new hood? the problem is new hood bolt/on or weld on will not be as good as factory one, whatever mismatched paint, or open seam in the coating layer, etc, could be later on make rust and rattle, etc.

Should I ask for money, I would rather get some money back and pretend myself my son drop garage door on the hood. Is 1000 reasonable?

By the end it is going to be a dragging process to wear me out. what they will really do is depends on what tool in my tool box whom do I talk to. Should I get to OMVIC( ontario government unit regulates dealer) or FCA canada.

I am in Ontario Canada, my local law offer no cool-off period for consumer to back out a deal, but I am not sure if allow consumer a period of time to back out deal with product found defect, very unlikely.

I am back to dealer tomorrow, your advice is really appreciated.

There are dent repair specialists that can make that look new in a hour or two for probably a hundred or so bucks.

The main thing is the paint looks good. You don’t need a new hood. Ask the dealer if they will cover a dent repair shop and get it hammered out. You’ll never know it was there.

These folks can do straight up magic.

Go to a good paintless dent removal guy. I know the hood is aluminim, which may throw a wrench into it, but this is not a bad dent at all, no creases. On a steel hood it would be a simple fix if they know what they're doing, it's worth asking.

One thing I recommend is to continue with that person, but if she is not handling it quickly enough or not to your satisfaction, start adding higher and higher level people. I had an issue when I bought my Jeep and they were jerking me around. I ended up copying the general manager of the dealership on the email and mentioning that I have not yet filled out my survey. Those surveys directly affect the money the salespeople and dealership get paid by the manufacturer. As soon as I did that, the GM responded with someone else copied and said to fix it immediately. All games stopped.

So, give them a chance to do the right thing, but do not be afraid to throw them under the bus and hold that survey hostage.
