About to place an order for the UPR. I like the Mishimoto too, but don’t care much for the looks after install. Messy hoses. Sorry.

Now just debating if I should go with the red UPR or black.... hmmmm

Those of you with the red, can you please post engine bay pics??? I’ve seen a lot of the black so no need for that. Would appreciate it

Is there any reason these Catch Cans would cause Power Train Warranty problems?
A dealer could cause problems and void your engine warranty but you could fight it. Reality is it’s not going to hurt, and only help engine longevity but dealerships can be funny that way.

Had the UPR catch can for a few days but haven’t had time to complete the install. It came down to the UPR or Mishimoto. I chose the UPR due to cleanliness of look after install.

Note: I was amazed at how much oil was already on the PCV line when I removed them. (See connector pic) This was all going back to my engine :( I only have 2700 miles. Dang.

Put the Mishomoto catch can on this morning, finally had time. Easy install save routing the hose from the PCV around the back of the engine, used a tie wrap to pull the hose further away from cooled EGR, it tucked it close to the firewall. other than that easy install. Funny thing, no oil in the PCV to manifold line. Had 4700 miles on the Jeep.

I would suggest some blue lock-tite on the nut that attaches to the intake manifold. Went to empty mine again and the bottom nut had almost fallen off.

Thank you for the feedback, we look forward to hearing how our can works out for you!

A lock washer may be a better bet to solve this. The aluminum bracket is going to expand and contract a good bit with the heat of the engine and with the can wanting to swing every time you get on and off the throttle, the Loctite might break free.

Thanks!

Just to run a comparison between UPR and Mishimoto... My neighboor has the UPR on his JL and I installed a Mishimoto on my 19' JL Rubi. I think both work well. They both collect about the same amount of oil in simular drive times. What I like about the the UPR:

1. Better hoses and planning of the routing: The hose ends and shorter runs of the UPR system is nice and clean. The tool-less ends are of a better qulaity that of the Mishimoto in my opinion. I do not say this as a knock on Mishimoto's system. I think their hoses are more than adequate. But the quality of the end connections are noticeable even if it doesn't affect operation.

2. Cheaper

What I like about the Mishimoto...

1. The location of the mounting allows for a quick drain out the bottom of the fender. So nice to be able to drop the oil out after a steep trail run without having to remove the can from the center of the very hot engine compartment. It really makes the everyday use of the system way more convenient.

Honestly after seeing both systems I thin they are both great. It really comes down to personal preference on location.

Emptied the UPR catch can after about 1700miles look at the amount of oil! I just put it back in the filler.
