Has anyone built the harnesses for the sun sensor and air temp sensor? Do you want to sell one?

I’ve been sorting through this page for awhile and still confused on whats needed. Is there a sticky that breaks down what is needed to make the upgrade from a 5” to a 7”. I have a 2019 sport s and am about to buy a 7” screen out of 2020 gladiator.

You need the radio, bezel and security code.

Speaking as someone who has done the swap, yes it is that easy. However, you will not have a physical volume or tuning knob, not a big deal as you can use the buttons on the back of the steering wheel.

I would encourage you to look for a radio out of a JL, as the JT uses a different backup camera and there have been reports of it not being compatible with the JL camera (the JT has a zoom feature not present in the JL).

To get the volume and tune knobs you will need to change the HVAC control and then it’s is a couple sensors to make the Automatic Climate Control work.

I agree. I did this upgrade 2 years ago. I bought the 7 inch unit, the bezel and the sat antenna (and cord). Never connect the antenna but the head unit worked as described. Using the buttons on the back of the steering wheel was not an issue. I also don’t recall needing a code. Just plugged it in, and in a couple of moments, the unit synch’d fine. My jlu is a lease and goes back in a few weeks, so I actually just removed the head unit, bezel and box’d it up. Will be posting soon. It was well worth the cost - when I put that 3.5 back in yesterday, I was again reminded how frustrated I was that I didn’t just lease the keep that already had the better unit.

After a year, I finally Installed both sensors - wires plugs, sensors, ordered from Tasca and Mouser , not hard just tedious, all together I installed the 7 inch radio, antenna, climate control with volume knob, sun sensor, temp sensor, and used Tazer Mini to make it all work

Do you still have that SAT cord (and actual antenna) you want to sell?

How do you find the right plugs and pins?

Thank you. So no need for additional sensors, or razor flash?
No flash or sensors needed unless you update/upgrade your climate controls.

There is a write-up in the DIY section on what you need to complete the install. If you have a Sport S you most likely already have all the wires present and just need to swap the Sun Sensor and add the Cabin Temp Sensor.
