I am in the process of buying a new 2022 JLUR. The difference in the new purchase price and my trade in value means I am getting a new JLUR, 0 miles, new warranty for basically $10k. Kind of hard to pass that up.

I will move my aftermarket wheels, rock sliders, and tailgate relocation to my new Jeep.

Question... I bought the dual hardtop in 2019. I plan on keeping the 2019 hardtop for the 2022 and only purchasing the premium soft-top. It seems obvious that it will fit but obvious usually gets me in trouble.

The wiring and switches won't be there for the rear wiper and rear defrost if you only order the soft top. I was in the same situation a couple months ago, had dual top on my 2020. I kept the soft top from the 2020 and ordered just the hard top.

OUCH! Glad I asked. the obvious is not always so obvious.

I should ask the other not so obvious questions/answer. IF I keep my premium soft-top and buy the hardtop new, will the 2019 premium soft-top work on the 2022?

I would assume it would fit all 2018+

Yeah, the OEM tops are interchangeable across all model years of the JL, so you'll be good.

It was primarily the JK where FCA kept moving the position of freedom top and soft top header latches around that limited their compatibility within specific years.
