Upgrade speakers while keeping the factory head unit?

Has anyone upgraded their sound system while keeping the factory head unit? I am looking for recommendations on replacing the factory speakers only- specifically recommendations from those who don’t have the alpine system w/ sub. Any input would be appreciated.

I have this setup and it's a great upgrade without breaking the bank.

i did the Dodge dart kicker upper dash speakers and a powered under seat subwoofer. i saw a big improvement with the dark speakers
