Update: 2018-2019 JL Wrangler Timeline Schedule (2DR JL & 2.0L Delay, Powertop & Diesel Dates, Etc)

TL;DR: Everything on schedule.

Hard top JLUs are already in production and will begin arriving at dealerships in January. Soft and dual top JLUs begin production in December (as reported). Production of export JLUs also still on track for January.

I got some guidance on timing of key items at today's reveal. We nailed the 2-door availability. Good news power sliding top appears to have been moved forward slightly.

• 2-door production begins mid-February.
• 4-door JLU will arrive at dealerships in January
• Half doors will be available 2019.
• Power sliding top will be available early 2018.

Do you know when orders for 2 doors can be placed? I'm hoping soon as I have already pre-traded my Ram Rebel (2 weeks ago) towards the order of a new 2 door JL Rubicon. I'm not sure how much time can go by for me to still be able to apply the trade credit (39K) towards the purchase of a new vehicle in order to get the break in sales tax (around $2700). Anyone have any idea about this?

And also, will the 2.0L turbo be available for order at the same time that the 2 door becomes available? Or will it be something like 2 doors with the Pentastars first...Thank you.

2.2 diesel is pretty clear?
but what about gas engines?
Will the 3.6L pentastar come over here? The 3.6L JK finally was available in 2016 with the automatic only. Diesel is automatic only too since late 2015.
Is the 2.0L Turbo going to be ESS only and not BSG?

Manual and or automatic?

I think he may have had a few too many barley pops at lunch. I could be wrong, but I doubt it very much.

oh, i wouldn't be surprised to see some random factory configs show up on lots - they need 2 doors floating around after the big tv ad campaign. the goal is to draw people in to look at them in person, so they need "some current JL 2 door" even if it's not the desirable loaded S or rubicon versions...now i want to see the pics on the site. i'll update if they come online or if he emails them over.

2018 JL order cut-off: 7/19/2018
2018 JL production end: 10/27/2018

2019 JL order banks open: 9/13/2018
2019 JL Production launch: 10/29/2018
