Underseat Powered Sub

Hey all, looking to try and copy the Alpine upgrade kit, albeit at a lesser cost. I have already upgraded the 3.5" speakers with Infinity Reference. I am going to get the KTP445U 'amp' and the Alpine wiring harness to tap into the factory wiring. I am looking at the powered sub next, and I am having a hard time swallowing the $300 for the Alpine powered unit when there are so many more cost-effective options. Anyone have real-world experience with the powered subs? IF the Alpine one is worth the $130 additional, I am not afraid to spend it.

I found the Infinity BassLink 8" for $169 on clearance. Anyone have any experience with that one of the JBL one that is identical?
