So I survived another trip to Moab last week. Hit a few new trails and showed some of the newbies around. Overall it was another successful trip. But now that I'm back, I'm looking into the possibility of making a few of the underhood brackets I posted about here and here.

After I posted those, I had a handful of people message me about offering the brackets up for sale which honestly hadn't crossed my mind. I made both of these brackets for myself because, as far as I can tell from my research, there is nothing else like it on the market. The whole point behind the bracket was to keep things neat and tiddy under the hood, which they both do nicely. So, since there was interest, I've reached out to a fabrication shop I use regularly for work and they are working on drafting me up a quote.

I'd really like to see just how much interest there really is. I want to make sure it's worth everyone's time for me to put these together. I plan on starting with just the ground bus bar bracket that mounts near the battery. It's the easiest and quickest for the fab shop and myself to make. If there is continued interested in my rock light bracket (which is a little more complex and could be adapted for other uses), I will look into it.

I'm tagging the people that I've already exchanged messages with so they can follow along.

If you're interested in either of the brackets, let me know below.

@spurly, I would be very interested in both of the brackets. Please add me to your list of interested parties. Thank you!

Alright so I heard back from the fab shop and the price to cut out BOTH brackets as a set is more reasonable than I was expecting, especially with today's steel prices. With that said, I'd like to know how complete everyone want's the brackets. I had planned on including the necessary hardware to mount both brackets.

For the ground bus bar bracket, would people want a bus bar, main ground wire, rivnuts included? A complete, ready to go kit and all you would have to do is paint or powder coat the bracket to your liking. OR just a plain bracket with the mounting hardware?

For the 'rock light' bracket, I'm considering not drilling any holes in the face of it because not everyone uses the KC Cyclones like I am. This would allow you to mount whatever you wanted to, to the bracket.

You might as well do a kit. I'd think there would be more people upset if it isn't complete than people upset that they got an extra small part they didn't use.

That's what I was thinking. Everything but paint would make it easier.

I'll work on figuring out the cost by this weekend.

I would prob only need the rock light attachment as I am running the KC like you.

Alright, so here is what I'm thinking for pricing.

For the ground bus bar bracket:
Jeep Wrangler JL Underhood Wiring Brackets - Gauging Interest 1622724680989

This would come complete with everything except the finish on the bracket.
Kit would include:
Bracket
Mounting hardware for bracket and bus bar (rivnuts already installed)
100A Bus bar w/ cover
Completed ground wire to run to the battery. Approx 10" 10awg wire covered in braided wire loom with terminals on both ends.
All you would have to do is finish the bracket to your liking.

Price would be $40 +shipping

For the Rock Light bracket (this doesn't have to be used for rock lights):
Jeep Wrangler JL Underhood Wiring Brackets - Gauging Interest 1622724919129

I know not everyone is running the KC Hilites Cyclone setup like I am here, so I'll leave it up to the buyer whether they want the rivnuts preinstalled for the cyclone setup, or just the plain bracket for you to drill and setup however you'd like. There's enough mounting space for a control module for other rock light setups. Again, you'd have to finish the bracket to your liking.

Price would be $25 +shipping.

If you wanted to buy both brackets, I could sell both for $60 +shipping.

We would need to find at least 20 people to commit to buying the brackets to keep the cost down. Steel pricing is fluctuating daily but I don't expect it to effect production cost for the brackets.

Let me know if your interested in one or both of the brackets.

Once you finish the first production run, would you be able to offer them up in smaller batches or singles?

It really all depends on the cost of steel at the time. With the price of steel changing daily and as high as it is already, a smaller production run isn't as cost effective. Based on the unfolded shape of each bracket, the fabrication shop was going to run them as a 'set' to minimize wasted space. Doesn't mean they have to be sold as a set. But if there are 20 people who are interested in purchasing either one or both brackets, then I can pull the trigger on it. If one bracket is more desirable than the other, then I can probably work something out with the fabrication shop to make more of one bracket, since I have a good relationship with them.

Originally I made these for myself because I couldn't find anything like it on the market. I had a need for something, and decided to make it. The positive feedback I received on both brackets was beyond what I expected and since a few people messaged me asking about the brackets, I started exploring the options of producing them to help out other people.
