There are a lot of threads about cracked windshields that make it seem like Jeep is using junk for the glass on Wranglers. Potential shoppers may be turned off by this.

Let's start a thread for those of us who have no issues with the windshield. Post your positive experiences.

For me:

1992 YJ - Have no idea how many miles, never cracked a windshield

2011 JKU - Never cracked a windshield in a full year of driving all over the Ohio Valley region

2012 JKU - Never had a crack, even running large tires with negative offset wheels at the offroad parks within a 4 hour radius of my house and lots of highway travel

2018 JLU - Coming up on 11,000 miles with no chips or cracks. There's a rock quarry 1.8 miles from my house. Dump trucks everywhere. 4 lane highways, interstates, county roads, etc.

The windshields in the Wranglers seem just fine to me.

I've had mine for about 8 months and 3800 miles, no chips or cracks yet. It did take a hit once which scared the hell out of me and I thought for sure it would be cracked, but it took it like a champ lol.

My JK had a cracked windshield at about 2k miles. Replaced it and never had another one for the remaining 25k miles I had it for. JL cracked at 2k miles. Haven't replaced it yet, but hopefully it's one and done too. I drive on highways with a lot of trucks...bound to happen.

I had a 2012 RAM I owned for 5 years and went through three windshields. First one was a rock chip. Second one was a rock chip. Third one was a rock chip that happened no more than 60 days after the second one. I couldn't win with this truck. Ended up trading it. It was like a curse.

It's been about 9 months for me and around 7500 miles including 2800 miles to SW Colorado and back in September with no cracks. So far, so good!

I have haf my JL Sport since July with little over 9,000 miles on it and no chips or cracks in the windshield. I have had a couple stones/rocks hit the windshield.

I've had probably 15 vehicles and never cracked a windshield -- Jeep wise though:

04 TJ, had for 25k miles
10 JK 2 door, 50k miles
15 JK 4dr, 35k miles
18 JL 4dr, 4k miles

Had the JL for a year next week. On my 3rd windshield.

Colorado loves crushed rock on the roads.

I have taken 4 good impacts on the highway without any damage. Not so lucky on the 5th as I got a chip. Chip was repaired before it spread. 10K miles in 6 months.

1998 Ford Mustang, Windshield never cracked
2002 Ford Mustang, Windshield never cracked
2005 M1116 HMMWV Up-Armor, Destroyed by IED, Windshield never cracked
2010 Dodge Ram 1500, Windshield never cracked
2017 Honda Accord, Windshield hasn't cracked yet.
2018 Jeep Wrangler, Windshield hasn't cracked yet, taken a few impacts from small stones thrown by gravel trucks.

The only vehicle I've owned/operated on a regular basis that had a windshield crack was my 1992 Saturn, and that's because I had a crash with a Cadillac.

I have 17k on my jlur and windshield isnt cracked. I've never had a windshield crack on me either since I've been driving.

Well its an upright windshield, and its bound to happen. Oh I was supposed to give a positive, I haven't cracked one in 3 months.....

I've had 5 Wranglers, most of which had a chips that I fixed right away and never had issues with the windshield cracking.

On the JL a rock chipped my window on the way to our first offroad park with it. We pulled over and I purchased a DIY fix kit and applied it while the wife and kids had a long lunch. Still no issues, and if you asked me today where it happened I wouldn't be able to point it out. I now carry a kit with me everywhere I go.

Most Jeeps that come into the shop have chipped or cracked windshields. I don't for one second think it's cheap glass, just the angle of the windshields making them more prone to damage.

I've had mine since August and I have 12k miles on it. Not a chip or a crack yet. I fully expected to have one or 2 by now, just comes with the territory. However to my surprise I'm chip and crack free!
