Please post the version number. You can see it via engineering mode.
I found that the radio software version is: 18.23.29, but I'm not sure if that is the version I should be looking at. If you know the exact name of the field I should be looking at, let me know.

Well i used to a big downshifter. Then i was told the correct way is to slow down with your brakes and just pull out of gear before you start lugging. No downshifting unless you need it. They said it wears the clutch. Comment was do i want to replace brake pads or clutch?

Just goes to show there is more than one right way i guess.
This is how I drive it too although occasionally I’ll pop it into neutral and coast down. Never have had a warning but now that I’m posting this, I probably will.

The two biggest reasons or arguments I always hear for a manual transmission.
A manual transmission is more fun
A manual transmission allows me to have more control and do what I want to do not what the automatic transmission computer wants me to do.

What you’re describing with this beeping does not sound fun or you have any more control over the vehicle than a Automatic. Interesting.
Lol, ok, maybe you'd prefer an automatic with autopark locking up and making your Jeep immobile? Pick your poison.

Thanks for the heads-up. Are you talking about the Uconnect software, or what? I've never heard an alarm of any kind related to the manual, and I've run it every which way but loose.

This was originally fixed in this TSB for the 3.6, first bullet, under the A revision.
https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...vements-pcm-reprogram-september-7-2018.15739/

This was then updated to B revision, but this is still listed in 4th bullet.
https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...rol-module-pcm-updates-october-16-2018.17794/

Are you saying the message came back when B revision was applied?
If I'm reading the document correctly, on the case listed there it says that the issue that it fixes is when switching from 1st gear to neutral. In my case, I'm not in first gear when having this issue. In my case, if I'm driving above 35mph (on 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th gear), and switch to neutral, I get that system alarm.

I'm not sure how to find out what is the revision number that it was applied to my car. I found application version USA-IR-21.10.0-20180605-I09W. Could that be the one?

That looks like it. When I have a minute I’ll see what version mine shows. I accepted an over the air update about a year ago, and do not have your issue. (Nor did I ever have the issue that was widely reported coming out of 1st gear.)

I’m shocked most people aren’t downshifting. That seems to be the proper way to drive a manual in my opinion. I also think not downshifting is lazy driving.

I’ve always owned a manual car as my daily driver, and I’ve replaced zero clutches. Multiple Wranglers too. Highest mileage I’ve gotten them to prior to selling the vehicle was around 145k.

Also, my JKU was nearly at 60k before having to replace rear brake pads and the fronts were still good until 70k. Compare that to what many experienced having to change every 15k or so.

Tested mine out. It doesn’t do this. Next step is to check my software.

I switch to neutral as soon as I notice traffic piling up, or a red light that I will need to stop at. I guess I could start downshifting until I'm below 35mph to avoid the warning, but that seems more of a hassle. I like driving manual transmissions, but not that much!
So it’s Jeeps fault you don’t know how to properly drive a manual transmission vehicle???

I love how a clear cut regression in OP’s software has devolved into a pissing match over how to “properly” drive a manual. Get over your egos, fellas. He’s asking if anyone else has experienced this new behavior, not how you think he should change his driving habits.

@JeepCares - is there an update or solution for the CEL code, "P1CEA" - Boost Side EVAP Purge System Performance

I have read this is a rather common code for the EVAP system on the Fiat based turbo charged motors. Just looking for some insight before I take my Jeep in and to be told we can not replicate the issue. NOTE: I have had this code pop up twice in the last 1200 miles, both times I scanned/deleted the code with no change in performance or economy.

Thanks

Thanks OldGuyNewJeep.
Last night I was watching my two boys (7 and 8) say that their favorite color is better, and that their brothers choice was incorrect. After a few minutes of the discussion I explained to them that there is no incorrect choice, that they both have different tastes; and that's ok.
I have been driving manual transmissions for about 25+ years now (about 7 or 8 different manual cars), never had a car give me a warning or an alarm when shifting to neutral.
If someone can guide me to the Jeep manual where it mentions that this is an unsupported operation, I will be happy to figure out a way to adjust my driving. Until then, I will continue to drive the same way and expecting Jeep to fix this issue.

As far as the issue I'm reporting, and hopefully no-one else having, I received a private message from Jeep that a case was started. They added that I should hear from someone within the next 2 business days. I will update once I hear from them.

I agree 100%!! Matching revs and downshifting is the proper way to drive a manual. It’s safer as well as to be in gear and be ready to move out of harm’s way. However, there are plenty of people that like to coast in neutral a lot too. I think manuals are about choice and freedom to do whatever. Screw all the stupid warnings!

This got me thinking about how I drive. I downshift religiously in my Miata, but since the driving experience in the Jeep is a bit more... uhh... deliberate, I find myself coasting to a stop more often than not while driving the rig.

So I'm both?

Always leave the vehicle in gear if you want to coast put it in Georgia overdrive ( foot on the clutch).
