Uconnect Phone App

I was going to install the uconnect app on my phone. It said it needs access to just about everything on my phone.
Why in the world does it need access to my app history, contacts, photos/media, and call information? This is nuts!

I was going to install the uconnect app on my phone. It said it needs access to just about everything on my phone.
Why in the world does it need access to my app history, contacts, photos/media, and call information? This is nuts!

App History - I am assuming for updates after installed

Contacts - For the phone connectivity to the system, when you receive a call or make a call with voice etc

Photos / Media - For accessing media on your phone such as play lists etc

Call Information - Same as contacts

Not sure why it would need access to any of that info since it is mainly a GPS and remote finder for your Wrangler. it shouldnt need contact info as it doesnt use that info for connectivity to the system at all since you use bluetooth for that. The photos and media are also not necessary as it doesnt access media or photos or play lists via the uConnect app either. Not sure why all that is listed above.

Anyone having issues with the app? When I try to log in, it says “server error, try back later”. That’s been two days now
