When traveling across the state on a road trip, the Uconnect Navigation has been routing us off the highway onto dirt roads when the paved road we are on is clearly the better route. I have check all of the nav setting and "UNPAVED ROADS ALLOWED" is not checked. I have noticed there is no option for "Shortest Route" vs. "Fastest Route".

For example, we were heading back home on a two lane county road when the nav said to turn left in 1000 feet. It's a Jeep so just for fun I decided to turn as directed onto this double track dirt road. The road was a dead end. This is just one example of many, where the nav does not choose the best route, or routes us on a route that makes no sense. Most of the time it works well, but the nav is starting to lose some credibility.

Any suggestions on how to correct this?

Thanks, Allen

The factory navigation makes zero sense on its routing ..

Actually, there is an option for fastest vs shortest. When it initially shows the calculated route, there is an selection just above the go icon which will allow you to select other route options.

Yes. There is Fastest, Shortest and Eco for routing options. But the problem is with the logic the nav uses to get from point A to B. Generally, it works very well. But last week it routed us to our destination via a route that was 12 minutes slower and 3 miles longer than the most logical route. We had the nav set on "Fastest". But for the entire trip, our location was spot on, so it is not a GPS issue.
