UConnect Firmware Update

I brought in my Jeep for the continuing UConnect memory issues and blacking out issues I am having on my Sport S. Dealership is saying there is a new firmware update supposed to fix these issues some of us are having.

Anyone else heard about this?

Are all the UConnects firmware pushed via OTA? I have the 7" and dealership has my Jeep overnight for other warranty work and are doing the update.

Ahhh, good question. I don’t know the answer. My 8.4” is updated OTA.

Hey ResqFE and OldGuyNewJeep,

Over-the-air updates are only available for connected radios, meaning Uconnect systems which have a connectivity component allowing for remote services via the Uconnect App. For the 18-19 JL, the 7" radio is not connected and does not receive over-the-air updates. If anyone has questions, feel free to PM us!

Well apparently u connect does not work on 8.4 either. My 8.4 is up-to-date Per uconnect site. I have even updated the Uconnect app. Even the app does not work. I cannot locate my vehicle through the app, cannot get any information at all on the vehicle much less remote start it. Not to mention not having the off-road pages. This whole system is useless. I can assure you I will not be paying for anything once my years trial is up!

Hi, yes It stopped working with in the last month and was sporadic before that? Y’all have all this on file, I don’t see a need for another private message. Uconnect knows all about it and about the absence of the off-road pages.

My 8.4 is up-to=-date per the UConnect site, too and I cannot get the UConnect App to work at all. I have an Apple iPhone and apparently the UConnect App issue is really with my phone.

Jennifer, I have just purchased a 2014 unlimited and can not get Android Auto to connect. I have read many threads and have tried a variety of cables with no luck. Any suggestions.

Hi Kenny,

The feature isn't compatible with any vehicle 2016 or older. It wasn't introduced until 2017. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Interesting. I was just at the Jeep Dealership with my 2019 Sahara. They updated my firmware to supposedly fix the audio glitch (Both low and no volume) and an apparent GPS glitch for time. Experienced both the volumes, but not the clock problem. They told me this update was required to enable OTA updates. Supposedly I can now get them OTA. He said you couldn't before this update was done. One thing I noticed is that Off-Road pages is gone now. Waiting to hear back from the dealer.
