uconnect and text messeges

Had my jeep since march...and i have 2 questions about the text messeges. First is that it announces i have a messege from mom, then again announces i have a messege from mom....its actually just one messege . second is there anyway to over ride the being able to 'read' the messege wile driving....I always have to take my phone out of holder and read the messege......Im gonna read it anyway and i have to look at the screen to change the radio station, or change the climate control....I know there are wiring to watch a dvd on pioneer radios that originally block you from watching while driving..so there must be one for the uconnect as well.....thanks all

Hmm, I’m not sure. My Jeep has Car Play so when I get a text it gives a chime. Then the person who texted me has their name on my screen at the bottom. If I just tap it the message is read to me verbally. It then asks if I’d like to respond.

1. What type of phone are you using (Brand and model)?

2. What OS version is it running?

3. Is the phone connected with a wire into the USB or Type C slot, or are you connected via Bluetooth?
