Hello Everyone,

Just a quick heads up one a way to make your Alpine system sound a little better. The dash & soundbar speakers can be easily replaced with 3.5" Coaxial speakers. I started off with some Kicker KSC3504 speakers and I thought they were a little to sharp on the high end. I switched out my dash speakers with JBL CLUB3020 speakers. Unfortunately, they were too big to replace the 3.5" speakers in the sound bar so I left the kickers in there.

The second speaker in the speaker in the sound bar is a 4" speaker with very unique mounting points...unless you want to drill into the plastic sound bar housing. I chose to stick with the factory Alpines there until there is some sort of direct replacement. From what I have researched, the same 4" speakers with the 3 mounting points are the same in the knee panels. The factory Alpine speakers do have small magnets but at least they are not the typical cheap paper cones.

All 4 speakers I replaced screwed in to the factory mounts with no modification needed. Do not over tighten in the sound bar or you will pull out the screw anchors in the plastic. The wire adapters you will need are the Metra 72-6514. You will need 2 of those.

Overall I am happy with the sound. I have much better highs from symbols, vocals, guitar and mid base...this should all get better are the speakers break in from my experience.

I had a question on this I thought I would share:

The picture of the kicker speakers in the sound bar you used a foam baffle.

What size did you order and from where (product link)?

Thx,
-xxxx

xxx,
There is not enough room for a foam baffle in the soundbar. It is a plastic injection molded piece and there was barely enough room for the speaker. In fact, I tried to use the same JBL speaker in the soundbar I did in the dash, but it was too big.
You can use a 3.5" baffle in the dash however...I did not. I simply used insulation tape around the edges of the speakers so that there would be no rattle. Also, if you are working on the front speakers, you will need a small socket type screwdriver set. I put a couple links below to help you.

Post what you think when you get them installed...it should only take you 30-60 min to switch out.

Replacement Speaker Pods for Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-Up* and Gladiator 2020-up*

The replacement speaker pods (JP-1014) are designed to replace the original 4” speaker pods located under the driver and passenger side of the dashboard in Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-up* and Jeep Gladiator 2020-up* models to allow for 6” to 6.75” aftermarket speakers. Each pair of pods has an ABS housing that utilizes the factory mounting locations for a secure fit that will heighten the listening experience. The pods use the factory grommet and wiring and a Metra speaker adapter harness is included.
