I've had my JLUS for about a month now and I just realized that the time isn't being maintained accurately. Yesterday, I noticed the time in the car was 1 minute different than my phone. This morning it was 3 minutes different than my phone. When I navigated to the settings menu to manually adjust the time, the UConnect system crashed and did a hard reset (radio stations lost, time reset to 12:00, all settings reset). Turned off the car and let it sit for a little while. Came back and tried to manually set the time again by navigating to the settings menu and choosing clock settings. Radio crashed again and reset all settings.

I have the 5" UConnect 3 radio with Sat Radio. I had my iPhone X plugged in both times when this occurred.
Checked the UConnect website and entered my VIN# and there are no available updates.

Has anyone had this happen or can anyone try replicating this issue?

Repro steps:
1. Plug in phone and start playing a song via Apple Music/Spotify/whatever
2. Press the "Settings" hard button on the right side of the radio
3. Press on Clock settings
4. Press set time (forget what the actual wording says on the radio)
5. Begin entering the time (the specific time I was trying to get to was 10:16, 12hr format)
6. Radio crashes and reboots, time will say 12:00 and settings will be reset.

I had this problem. There is new software that fixes it. The dealer can install it, but if you are comfortable doing it, you can do it yourself

I thought that was the issue. I checked the uconnect support website and entered my VIN#.
Do I need to do something special??

Hi thewolfman2010,

Would you like us to get this escalated to our Uconnect team. Send us a direct message with your VIN if so. We'll get started on that.

I will send over my VIN# so you can look into this issue. Today, when I got into the Jeep, the radio was off by +10 minutes.

I have this same issue. Sometimes the system crashes and restarts when my iPhone X is plugged in and playing music.

Ya. I gotta take it in to the dealer and get it sorted out.
Please let me know what happens. Iā€™ll eventually take it too but dealer is a bit far from where I live and I donā€™t know when Iā€™ll be able to take it. I also donā€™t want to go if they canā€™t do anything

Something new happened today. I was driving to work and talking on the phone via bluetooth. When I got to work, I was still on the phone and turned off the jeep. I got a pop up on the screen prompting to transfer the call to my phone and that the car was shutting down. I got out of the car and a few steps later, the radio in my jeep starting blasting a random radio station. Keys out, car off. I walked back to the jeep, radio was black and everything else was off, but the speakers were blasting the radio, it also kept cutting in and out like it was trying to turn off. See the video I attached. Very strange!!!!

Unfortunately, this is a software issue and needs to be fixed by the UConnect team. Going to a dealership and them telling me they can't do anything about this will be a waste of time on both ends -- and my particular dealer isn't very great at resolving problems. I'll just wait until a fix is pushed out via software update. Thanks for the response though. I appreciate it.

Can you explain a little more as to how you came to the conclusions that: 1. the dealer won't have a resolution and 2. that a software update isn't already available for this?

This info would be helpful for me and others with the same issue.

1. The dealer wonā€™t have a resolution for this because myself and plenty of others have already tried. This is one of SEVERAL threads about the UConnect 5ā€ radio issues.

2. You can check the UConnect support website to see if there is an update for the radio based on your VIN#. (Hint: there isnā€™t one.)
