Uconnect 3 with 5 inch Radio TERRIBLE!

I too have a brand new Wrangler Unlimited Sport S with the basic 5" screen. The loud music from previous time drives me nuts every time I start the Jeep. Also, responsiveness of the screen is very slow. By the time the radio reacts, I've entered some sort of a code in to the satellite radio which then becomes the next issue. Very frustrating. Have under 1000 miles on the Jeep.

I had the same issue. I gave up and switched to the 7” uConnect 4. For less than $500 and 15 minutes worth of my time I upgraded from the crappy 5” (which works fine in other models) and install the 7” with CarPlay. PLUG AND PLAY

Was around $500 for everything (including satellite antenna and cable)... don’t pay a dealer to install, I’ll facetime you if I have to show you even, it’s a 10 minute home install a child could accomplish!

You’ll need to order it with satellite as ordering without gas the feature disabled and unusable

5 inch to 7 inch takes 10 minutes and a screwdriver. I gave up on the crappy 5 inch. Do yourself a favor and order from Amy mopar site. $450 all in. Looks so much better

I did not use the cable for the Sirius antenna or the antenna. I did not want to deal with running it. Again I am not a technical guy. Just installed the radio and the bezel. My wife has Sirius on her car and we can stream off of my phone for free. I am keeping these parts just in case I want to install later. Really just too lazy to send back

Also watch the you tube video on what step you should take to get the radio out

Basically you have to pull out the ac module below the radio first to get to the two screws that hold the bezel. Just watch it.

Shuts off and reboots when I plug in my iphone and the slow as molasses responsiveness and extreme volume shocks sometimes upon starting the vehicle are super frustrating. I agree with the OP, I can't believe that a radio this bad is even still produced.

Thinking of upgrading to the 7", was anyone else successful in getting the dealership to reimburse them for a faulty radio?

I have the exact same issues. I can't use the USB ports because system will reboot, I can't turn down volume for 5-7 seconds when I start my Jeep because it just doesn't respond, and bluetooth paring takes almost a minute after starting and I have to manually select the source every time. I've driven new Fords, Chevys, and Toyota rentals for work and none of their bluetooth stereos have these problems. Considering my Jeep cost way more than any of those other cars I'd expect a higher quality stereo system.

I've mentioned these issues with my local Jeep dealer and they were unaware of any of these problems.
