After getting the work completed I could tell a difference before I was even out of the dealership parking lot. It's hard to describe but I'd say it's smoother feeling, a little more car like. Dead spot is significantly less if not gone but it does seem like there is a minor delay in small steering inputs but I guess that's better than the giant dead spot I had before. Overall I'm happy I had the TSB performed, just wish I didn't have to resort to involving Jeep corporate to get my dealer to do the work.

I just had the work done in the TSB. It has made a significant change for the better. A bit more weight in the steering wheel, which I like. The dead spot is almost completely gone. I don't have to correct the steering every 2 seconds at highway speeds.

Still waiting for the diesel steering box. Jeepcares said no progress. The dealership still can't order.

They should be able to order it unless they have a long list of others ahead of you in line. For whatever reason FCA has restricted the parts so that they can only order one set every two weeks, or at least that's what I was told.

Jeep won't replace mine because of the aftermarket lift. Beyond annoyed.

Can anyone confirm if an updated (iron) steering gear was released for the Ecodiesel Wrangler? The parts counter at my local dealer looked up the currently listed part number (for a 2020 JLUR diesel) as 68551688AD.

For those of you having TSB 08-074-20 RevB implemented, was this covered by FCA or did you foot the bill?

Thanks

It was covered by FCA, made a huge difference. 37s >you need to upgrade your suspension steering no matter what.

There currently is a superseded part number for the iron steering box as well that just came out. Mine should be arriving within a few weeks and this new part number (I don't have the number)is literally only about month or two old. When my dealer ordered mine a few months ago they were on back order and when I checked in a few weeks ago on the status, the parts man was surprised to see a superseded part number now showing and that's what's on the way. So I really hope that its yet another good improvement over the current iron replacement box. I already had the iron box from the factory (2021)but it developed about an inch of steering wheel slop at about 15K, they adjusted it, but that was short lived so they ordered me a new one. Looking forward to it.

Thanks guys, for the replies & info. Since I posted that question, I learned from my dealer that yes, it will be covered by FCA because I am still within the 36mo. I barely made it. It expires this coming Sunday he said! Said the part is in back order but has this all logged, etc.
