That's what I was told also. The call came out of the blue and they have the box in their hands, just couldn't get me in before that. Keep the faith.

Amazing. Maybe there is hope. Congrats on getting the unit. Hopefully the steering box will help out. So many things to upgrade, so little cash to pay for it. Lol.

Should be printed on the sticker inside the driver door. Look for date of manufacture. Will show a month and year.

Thanks. Mine is a 20 model but I think I remember seeing it was built in August.

Jeep cares didn't give any data on when the steering box will be available. Only sometime first quarter, 2021. Wish I had better information.

Actually, I called Jeep Cares about my box because they initially emailed me that the case was closed and would reopen when the boxes became available. I just wanted to make sure it didn't fall through the cracks so to speak. Two days later, I got the call from the dealer that the box was in. Taking it in tomorrow morning. I'll let you all know how it went.

I just called my dealer and he doesn't have any word on the replacement steering box. All I hear from jeepcares is they are working on it. Ugggggg

Well....took the Jeep in yesterday morning for my "appointment" at 9:30 am. As of 5 pm, still not done with a 2.3 hr flat rate job. Service writer said 10 this morning (how he knew that is beyond me) Anyway, I'll give a report after I get it back.

Following this thread but my 2020 diesel with the aluminium box tracks and stears fine with no issues...but you are aware it is a short, high centered vehicle and not a Bentley... If it wasn't for the forum, I wouldn't even know there are issues.

Makes me wonder what happened to the affected units to cause steering problems...some have it, some don't. These boxes aren't made one by one by starving little Chinese children on a dirt floor...lol

OK, just got back from the dealer and WOW, what a difference! Changed the box and did the flash for the computer along with alignment. The Jeep actually goes where it's pointed now and has MUCH tighter feeling on center. Steers like my wife's 21 two door. Y'all are going to be happy when you do get it done!

Probably tolerance stack up on different components or poor quality control inspecting the components. So many possible variables.
