Hi, this is my first post as I am a brand new member of the forum. So happy to be here, my 2 door Wrangler JL is only about 2 weeks old. Been a long time coming, last jeep I had was a 1998 Wrangler that I had to get rid of back in 2005. Anyhow, here's a question for you Wrangler wizards: is there a trunk option for my Wrangler? I think I know the answer as I have come up empty looking but am quite puzzled why in November there would still not be one. I'll wait for the jokes about the "trunk" in a 2 door, but since my last car was a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid (with battery pack in the trunk) and I really liked the trunk option on my old 2 door wrangler, I really want this trunk space and am not used to a large trunk anyway. If there is truly not an option available right now does anyone know if the JK trunk part could be modified to fit my JL? Thanks so much for taking the time to read this. Am truly loving life again with the top down in my dream ride.

I couldn’t find a good 2 door option so I worked with a local fab shop and had them bend up some 11 gauge steel. The sides are individual pieces and the top/back is a single piece. I switched all hardware to knurled knobs for easy removal. I have since installed rubber molding on all the edges to seal the gaps. It is very secure. I used bed liner to coat it. Very happy with the end result.

I think Quadratec has a few options for the cargo area I believe. But they can be pricey. And yes, lots of Unlimited options out there but few for the 2 door still. They'll come along. Really like what Tjax had made but I don't like being tied down to something semi-pemanent. I like to keep the seat folded forward most times so I have lots more room.

I'm going to get ahold of Mopar and see if there is something coming soon in 2019. Also will ask about how close the JK version is to what a JL would be. Thanks a lot for your replies!

Any update from Mopar? I just ordered my JLR 2 door and am looking for a semi permanent cover too, something that is relatively easy to remove.

Check out Tuffy, they make one that is easily removed.
Just checked this thread again on my laptop, now I can see your profile picture ... that tyre (tire) cover is hilarious! My JLR will be equipped with the same anti-theft system as yours! :P

Thanks, I got the photo off a joke site, mine is actually the 8 speed auto. My wife can’t drive a stick.

Your fabrication is awesome. You should sell it. Still can't find anything like it.

Thank you for your kind words. I really like having secure storage in my Jeep. I’d make small changes if I did another one but this works fine.
Here it is with weatherstripping and thumbscrews. Excuse the dirt but it gets used. : )

Does anyone know of a cargo cover for a 2 door with the rear seats removed? Even a tonneau cover would be fine, I’m just looking for something that’s more for out-of-sight-out-of mind protection, and maybe sun protection for anything I leave behind. Also I’d need to keep my soft top fitted so some of the other solutions that I’ve seen don’t seem to fit the bill. Thanks.

Have you tried Tuffy, as originally suggested by @Mike in Reedley back in Feb? It will add about 70 lbs to the rear, but it's advertised as soft-top compatible. Note the interference with the Alpiine... this, in addition to the price, was a deal-breaker. And the reviews ain't great.

It's pricey, but... ain't nuthin' but a Jeep thang bayyy-beh.

Just want to see if anyone has made any new discoveries on this topic. i reached out to Bestop a few months ago and they said they had no plans. With summer on its way I'd really love a secure truck space!
