Getting all my ducks in a row and was wondering where everyone is trimming when going 40’s. Looking to see if I can still get decent uptravel with 3 inch bumps.

I know that the rear of the rear quarter will need to be trimmed but what about the top or front of the rear?

for the fronts, do I need to chop the two brackets that used to hold the fender in?

What size lift do you have?

I had 5 inches in front and 4.5 inches in the rear. Even with 3" bump stops I could easily tear the fronts off and rub in the rear.

I play in the mud and snow so it wasn't an issue. If you plan on rock crawling, I would remove all of the inners, or more likely, go with aftermarket flairs.

The back part of the front fender flare was easy to hit.

lift height shouldn’t matter in terms of bumpstop since up travel is limited by bumpstops and hopefully not shocks. I am already running chopped rubicon fenders with artec inners.

were you rubbing anything metal in front or just plastic fender? And in the rear wheel was it just the back part of the fender? I still have a few weeks out before the axles arrive so I am just trying to see what else needs to be hacked off

Checked out your insta and that was helpful. I just got my AAL inners and gotta start trimming them up for mine. You have more pics of what you cut and how you modified the new inner fenders to get all the clearance?
