Tried putting new wheel on back, hits the bumper and won’t fit. any suggestions!

I've got a bumper/tire carrier combo now because I didn't want that much weight on the tailgate, but it wasn't rubbing. Something must have changed between then and now.

My guess is offset on aftermarket wheel Possibly. When I bought my Sport used it had 33s and fit fine until I swapped out to OEM steel bumpers to align with Rubi flares. Didn’t fit then

Yea, you can see in this pic the extended stops, and probably my backspacing/offset combined kept the bottom part of the tire pretty far back from the bumper. That's probably why I didn't rub.

I have 35” KO2’s on my Rubicon with steel bumper and it did not fit, either. Tried the RC relocation bracket and hated how high it put the tire. Couldn’t see out the back. Switched it out to the Teraflex HD Alpha relocation kit and it’s perfect.

I’m running 33s on the stock Sport Altitude 18 inch wheels. These are the same wheels that come on the Sahara except in black.

I have a 2 inch RC spare tire kit for free if you want it. There’s 2 versions (4 inch and 2 inch) depending on how large your tire is and how high you want it. Lmk !

Yep. That’s what I was referencing why I think Jim’s wasn’t rubbing. He had aftermarket wheels.

I'll piggy back this... I have Willys which comes with 255/80r17 33" tires (measured 32"). I wonder if I have the Rubicon tire mount or Sport? Any way to tell? Thanks in advance.

Might want to go out and check your tire size again.

Sometimes you can find some rubicon take off's you can switch out to since they're higher than our sports and saharas. I went with RC

Did you extend the tire stops? That's one thing I forgot to mention, I extended the stops, it kicks the bottom of the tire out a bit. I am also surprised that you couldn't get a 33 on there.

Jim, the angle of this pic makes your spare tire look like a wide 40" badass wheels too! Nice job.

Ha! It’s all good. Actually I would like to see a 33” option on the Willys package along with 3.73 and 4.10 gear options, D44 front and TruTrac option for the front and rear.

I put on 315-70-17 Nittos (basically 35's) and they hit the stock rear bumper. Locked it solid and the gate wouldn't open. Used a Smittybilt relocation and perfect fit, plenty of clearance.
