Love the build….have you considered these front fenders?…….😂

Damn, I feel like the shovels would be on point!! 😂 🤔

You know realistically speaking mounting utility tools over the fenders isn't a bad idea.

I've done some talking with my dad and with my wife over this past weekend and I've come to a conclusion that rather than spending the money and get my PCM tuned, I'm going to spend the money and get a secondary PCM purchased and get it copied at the dealership. Then I'll spend the remaining $600 that I was going to spend on the tune on my front and rear fender flares I've been wanting for some time now.

I'll wait to get my tune when the political climate isn't so hot. However having the tune on a secondary PCM means that I can get the tune, and as long as I don't ever install that PCM, I'm still 100% legal. So I can sit on it for a decade if I choose to. ;)

Jeep Wrangler JL TREDSDERT JLU Willys Sport EcoDiesel – Destroying 70+ Years of Advancement, One Mod at a Time IMG_20230521_140943809

Truck bed liner coating on the fuel can mount is done, even reinstalled the mount itself...

Jeep Wrangler JL TREDSDERT JLU Willys Sport EcoDiesel – Destroying 70+ Years of Advancement, One Mod at a Time IMG_20230521_142152746

Hope it holds up better this time. Less rust would be ideal. However I'm still in the process of painting up the fuel can itself. There was a bit of rough spots where the paint had worn away from the original factory coating on it. As of right now I have five different layers of truck bed liner, from three different types of truck bed liner. A base coat which is a lot thinner, a rubbery plastic coating which should act as a cushion, and a proper truck bed liner which is a very thick coating of hard plastic. All of which are on it, and drying in the garage right now.

(In order from left to right: The thin coating, The rubbery coating, The hard coating. Not that they say that on the canister, but that's from my experiences, the consistency of the spray once it's dried.)

So the thin coating, that's the coating that won't come off through thick and thin, the other two are only on the bottom of the canister. Which is currently at the top of the photo above. At first I was just going to coat the whole thing in black, but after doing the first coding of the thin stuff, I kind of like the rugged look of the Jerry can with red and black.

I've been hesitant lately to put any sort of indicator as to that it's diesel fuel inside, so I haven't been putting any yellow paint on it, however the theme of my Wrangler is green, red, black, and gold, so tomorrow after work I will flip it over and cover a few spots of exposed metal with the thin truck bed liner coating, and then Tuesday after work I'm going to do some squirts of gold on there. Similar to how the black currently sits. Just kind of make it like a camo look, red, black, and gold.

Not that gold is yellow, but at least in Texas you only have to indicate that your fuel canister is a fuel canister with red. You're supposed to put yellow if it's diesel, but at the end of the day gasoline is more flammable than diesel, and people are less likely to steal gasoline from my Wrangler I feel. I feel like the second I spray some yellow on there and let people know it's diesel, I risk it getting stolen even quicker. So at least for now, it's going to have a little bit of gold on it in a few days. Should look good once all is said and done.

I think it’s cool either way, I love simplicity in my Jeeps, I purchased a sport 2 door with crank windows to build and lots of time I love taking back seat etc out and running it as light as I can. Casey Currie has a few prerunner Jeeps that look like a lot of fun. Where I live it’s all woods but if I lived out west this would be a fun direction to pursue, although my wife like yours I fear would not drive in it with the current “salvage title” vibe haha.

I’m in the same predicament with the stock parts as well, seems a shame to toss them but I fear saving them will just mean I’ll have to toss them when I’m older.
I’ve had trouble getting rid of stock parts as well. I called a local salvage yard and they will take them off my hands without them going to the landfill.

(not my jeep btw)

Just ordered these rock rail steps. $407 on Amazon, I feel like they'll be super handy. Especially for my wife who is short as heck! They should be arriving June 1st. So that will be fun. Easy install next weekend!

I think it came out pretty well. I'm going to let it dry in the garage until Monday and put it back on the Jeep then.

Also the Jerry can mount is holding up pretty well as well..

It's seen both dirt and rain at this point.

It might be a UK version, ie. A right hand drive Wrangler. I'm not really sure, the photo is from Amazon. It just happens to be Sarge Green so I figured it would give people a good idea of what it will look like on my Wrangler. ;)

Dixie Horn is back!

Jeep Wrangler JL TREDSDERT JLU Willys Sport EcoDiesel – Destroying 70+ Years of Advancement, One Mod at a Time IMG_20230603_144048_01

I bought a 12x12 steel wall panel meant for hanging your tools on. The ones with all those little holes all over them. It worked out beautifully for mounting the horns and the compressor. The goal is to rig it up with some mounting brackets to the back tailgate and have it angled a little down and facing out the back. Project for another day though. I took the easy route yesterday and put it in front of the radiator again.

Really was only ordering the 75W-90 differential fluid for the m210 front and m220 rear. But as with Amsoil, that free shipping sure is nice. Been meaning to get some more fuel additives for the wife's Subaru Forester, so got it up $100 got that free shipping.

Ordered this guy too, for the rear limited slip.

Probably won't do the procedure until we get back from our vacation near the end of July. Honestly this will be my first ever DIY differential fluid change, so the whole process, even just looking up what I need to use is kind of nerve-wracking.

Did a little bit of research before I put in my order:

Got to love this forum, so such a wealth of information!

Not related to this post, but I wanted to do a shout out to @Rhinebeck01 for having my back yesterday and being concerned for my well-being on this forum. You're a true friend brother! Beers on me if we ever meet in person! 🍻
